Why is expert sex education important?

Our global knowledge of sex leaves a lot to be desired. Too many taboos, distorted views of pleasure – and don’t get us started on the orgasm gap. But we aren’t just talking about the sex ed we got (or didn’t get) in high school. Watch any movie (romantic or raunchy) and chances are it paints a pretty inaccurate picture of sexual satisfaction – especially from a female perspective. With Vulva Talks, we’re encouraging and educating everyone on the importance of open, inclusive and realistic conversations about sex. Less shame, more pleasure, and healthier views around sex and relationships as a whole. Not too much to ask, right?

Explore the female anatomy

According to a survey by a UK gynecological cancer charity, 6/10 women could correctly label the male anatomy, but only a third of them could correctly map the female anatomy. (Source: The Eve Appeal)

Inspire pleasure possibilities

A recent study showed that for more than 7 out 10 women, clitoral stimulation is a factor to orgasm during intercourse. (Source: Women's Experiences With Genital Touching, Sexual Pleasure, and Orgasm)

Close the orgasm gap

Heterosexual men are most likely to say they usually-always orgasm when sexually intimate (95%), followed by gay men (89%). For heterosexual women, the number drops to 65%. (Source: Differences in Orgasm Frequency Among Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Heterosexual Men and Women)
