Creative ways to use sex lube

creative ways to use lube

Our motto? Lube is life! Drops of water-based lubricant can enhance your pleasure during penetrative sex, but a bottle can go much further than that, in and out of the bedroom.

5 ways to use lube during sex.

1. For solo oral.

If you are a bit unsure about how to use a lubricant, why not indulge in a little DIY for a while? While there is nothing quite like the real deal when it comes to oral sex, you can come pretty close with the right vibe and some strategically placed lube, giving the slippery sensation of a loving tongue but without the partner!

2. Massage the perineum.

The perineum is the area between the vaginal entrance or penis and the anus. So why not surprise your partner by giving it a little lubed-up massage with your thumb or finger – the slipperiness of the lube, along with the pressure from your thumb or finger, will drive them crazy! Go one step further and combine it with giving them oral sex for a truly mind-blowing experience for both of you.

3. Use lube on a vibrator.

One of the main reasons to use lube is to reduce friction, and this goes for external toys and clit vibrators too. Squirt a few drops directly onto your fave to enhance sensations. The consistency of a water-based gel lube breaks down much more slowly than a liquid lube and is a silicone vibrator's best friend.

4. Massage in a bottle.

Lube is a wonderfully sensual alternative to massage oils if you don't have any. The key is a non-sticky formulation and warm hands. Trust us, rub the palms of your hands together before massaging lube into any erogenous zone on your partner's body, and then have the same done to you in return. It's like covering every inch of your body with silk!

5. Try lube AND condoms.

Safe sex is a must, especially in a new relationship, and safe sex for a lot of us usually means condoms, which can reduce the sensation sometimes. However, there are two ways to overcondom this; by adding a lube to the inside of the condom, right into the tip; or using it on the outside to help reduce friction. Remember, only use water- or silicone-based lubricant with condoms to ensure no breakages.

Other ways to use lube that are not sex related.

Lube is always a good thing to have in the house because, aside from the obvious, there are so many unexpected ways to use it.

    • Bad hair day? Smooth a little lube onto your hair to tame all the flyaways and keep your style in shape all day long.
    • Chafing thighs or nipples? When your thighs are rubbing together, or your nipples are suffering from some friction; rub a little lube on them to reduce any soreness and further friction. We highly recommend enjoying this little me-time massage.
    • Dry skin? Good quality lubes are now packed full of natural ingredients which are good for your skin, so rubbing some into your skin will keep it well hydrated and smooth, and it can even be used on your face!
    • DIY home improvements? Lube for masturbation is GREAT, but we're talking about the other kind of DIY. Lube can free up squeaky hinges and creaky doors, and a strategically placed drop or two can eliminate noisy bed springs, which will be a must when you realize just how much fun you can have with it in the more traditional sense.
